McInnes welcomes re-opening of Rosyth ferry route12.00.00am GMT Thu 26th Feb 2009 Liberal Democrat Transport spokesperson Alison McInnes MSP has welcomed the announcement that the Rosyth to Zeebrugge ferry line will be reopened in May this year and is to be managed by Norfolkline Ferries. Commenting after attending a meeting hosted by Norfolkline, Mrs McInnes said: "The resumption of this service is very welcome. I am particularly pleased that it is going to be managed by such an experienced and well regarded company. "While the passenger service will be welcomed by many independent travellers, the real bonus is that freight operators again have an opportunity to reduce their environmental impact by taking freight off the roads. This will cut their costs through reduced fuel consumption and managing drivers' time more effectively. "I hope that many logistics companies will take advantage of the route."
