Alison McInnes - Campaigning as MSP for North East Scotland

McInnes calls for consistent care ahead of MS week

2.07.27pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 16th Apr 2008

North East Scotland MSP Alison McInnes today called on the Government to secure more consistent care for people with multiple sclerosis.

Mrs McInnes, who also signed a parliamentary motion backing the MS Society Scotland, said: "Scotland has the highest rate of MS in the world, and despite great work from organisations such as the MS Society, there is still significant variation in the provision of MS care from region to region.

"The Government should work with these organisations to ensure that this disparity is addressed."

MS Week runs 21 to 27 April 2008 and aims to raise awareness of the emotional, physical and financial costs of multiple sclerosis to those with the condition and their families.
