McInnes welcomes Shire's school report12.00.00am GMT Tue 11th Mar 2008 North East Scotland MSP Alison McInnes has welcomed Aberdeenshire Council's education inspection report, which is released today (Tuesday). She said: "I am heartened by the real progress recognised by this report. I am sure it will reassure parents, teachers and pupils across the local authority that everything is being done to raise the standard of Aberdeenshire's education provision. "It is particularly encouraging that the Inspector considered the Shire's vision to be a major strength. The future for education in Aberdeenshire is looking very bright indeed. "I would like to echo the Inspector's praise for the recently appointed Director of Education, Learning and Leisure who has already made a significant impact." Quality Indicators are used to assess an authority's performance. Aberdeenshire achieved nine 'Good' evaluations and one 'Very Good' evaluation.
