North East Scotland MSP Alison McInnes has hailed campaigners as children's cancer facilities were this week spared the axe.

Writing in her monthly Ellon Advertiser column she said: "The threat to centralise this service caused much alarm, so I am delighted that common sense has prevailed. It is disappointing that we have to fight so hard for local services, but it does show what can be achieved when communities and politicians stand together."
