McInnes hails turnaround primary school12.00.00am GMT Tue 22nd Jan 2008 North East MSP Alison McInnes today praised the leadership of Middlefield Primary in Aberdeen for overseeing a dramatic turnaround at the school. Commenting as the school's HMIe report went public, McInnes said "This report showers praise on management, parents and pupils for the manner in which the school has been turned around." She continued, "The speed with which the school has addressed the concerns of the inspectors is impressive. It takes a great deal of concerted effort from all involved to bring about this kind of improvement." The school, which was on the end of criticism from the HMIe in 2005, was subject to a follow up inspection in which signs of improvement or continued shortcomings are identified. Middlefield's report stated, "the quality of leadership in the school was of a very high standard" and "the improvements in the school from the time of the original inspection in 2005 were very apparent and brought credit to parents, pupils and staff."
