Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Nicol Stephen MSP, has appointed a team of spokespeople to shadow the recently appointed Scottish Ministers, and Alison McInnes MSP takes on the role of Shadow Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Climate Change.

Nicol Stephen said: "The Scottish Liberal Democrat parliamentary team is young, energetic and forward-looking. My goal is for the Liberal Democrats to be the most effective campaigning political party in Scotland."

Commenting on her appointment Alison said, "I am delighted to be taking on this role. An efficient transport system is essential to our economy, our communities and the environment. I will be challenging the new Scottish Executive to move quickly with key north east projects like Aberdeen crossrail, the western peripheral route and the Balmedie - Tipperty dualling."

Newly elected to the Parliament, Mrs McInnes brings to the post the experience gained from many years as Chair of Aberdeenshire Council's Infrastructure Services Committee and, most recently, Chair of Nestrans, the North East's Regional Transport Partnership.
