McInnes attacks SNP's Broken Commitment12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 22nd Jun 2007 North East MSP and Liberal Democrat Climate Change spokesperson Alison McInnes has criticised the SNP Government for making a dramatic u - turn with their Climate Change Bill. The bill unveiled by finance secretary John Swinney yesterday did not include the SNP's manifesto pledge of 'mandatory 3% annual carbon reduction targets.' Liberal Democrat Climate Change Spokesperson Alison McInnes said 'On page 29 of the SNP's pre -election manifesto it says if elected the SNP would introduce mandatory reduction targets of 3% per annum. Yet again we see further evidence of the SNP promising one thing and then not delivering. This is another classic SNP u -turn.' 'Climate change is the biggest single threat to the future of our race and the Scottish Government needs to set an example to the rest of the world by standing up to that threat instead of backtracking on manifesto commitments'.
