North East MSP Alison McInnes has congratulated Rosebank Primary School in Dundee and Slain's School in Aberdeenshire on both achieving excellent Inspectorate of Education reports, released earlier today.

Slain's School in Ellon, Aberdeenshire was singled out for its very good pastoral care and its partnership with parents and the local community. The School was also praised for its quality of teaching in both mathematics and English language.

Rosebank Primary School in Dundee was commended as having made very good progress in addressing the points for improvement made in a previous report two years earlier. The school was congratulated for 'improving pupil's experiences in enterprise and increasing their environmental awareness'. Attainment in both mathematics and English language was also said to have undergone continuous improvement.

Commenting Mrs McInnes said - "It was fantastic to read such positive reports about two schools in the North East. Rosebank School should be congratulated on the progress it has made since its initial report back in 2005 and Slain's School in Ellon was noted as having major strengths in several key areas.

'I have already passed on my personal congratulations to staff at both Slain's and Rosebank and wish them all the best in providing continued high quality education in the North East'.
