McInnes Congratulates Rising Stars of the North East12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 29th Jun 2007 North East MSP Alison McInnes has written to Inverurie swimming Star Hannah Miley and Ellon Academy student Emma Rettie to congratulate them on their recent successes. Inverurie resident Hannah Miley who swims for Garioch Swimming Club recently broke the British records in Barcelona for the 400 metre and 200 metre individual medleys. Emma Rettie of Ellon Academy recently came second in the English Speaking Unions (ESU) European Parliament Public Speaking Competition, the final of which was held last week at Edinburgh University. Commenting Alison McInnes said- "I am delighted to hear the stories of these two very successful young women from the North East. They have made the North East, their schools and their families tremendously proud. "I have written to both Emma and Hannah personally to congratulate them on their success and I wish them both the best of luck in the future".
