McInnes Praises 'Discover Royal Deeside' Bus Route12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 4th Jul 2007 Scottish Liberal Democrat Transport Spokesperson and North East MSP Alison McInnes has congratulated Aberdeenshire Council on its improved bus service called 'Discover Royal Deeside' which was launched this week at Crathes Castle. The 'Discover Royal Deeside' bus route will run between Aberdeen and Banchory every 20 minutes at peak times with improved services operating at evenings and weekends. The service is a joint venture between Aberdeenshire Council and Stagecoach Bluebird with over £1 million being awarded to Aberdeenshire Council by the Scottish Executives 'Bus Route Development Grant' (BRDG). Speaking at the launch Mrs McInnes said "I congratulate Aberdeenshire Council on winning the bid to RBDG, and welcome the new and improved service as it provides not only a real alternative for commuters but also a quality public transport option for tourists visiting Royal Deeside." The improved bus Service will start operating between Aberdeen and Banchory from Monday 9th July.
