McInnes: Rail Report Reveals SNP Lack of Ambition12.00.00am GMT Thu 1st Nov 2007 The Network Rail Strategic Business Plan published today exposes the Scottish Government's lack of ambition for Scotland's rail network, according to the North East MSP Alison McInnes. Commenting after the publication, McInnes, who is also Liberal Democrat Transport spokeswoman, promised to hold the Scottish Government to account: "The First Minister assured me today that the Scottish Government is prioritising improvements to the rail link between Inverness and Aberdeen. "This Government has also waxed lyrical about its plans for improvements to the Edinburgh-Glasgow route. "Scottish Ministers have been busy talking up the SNP transport promises, but this report has exposed the Government's lack of ambition and slipping timescales. "The Liberal Democrats have a vision for a world class railway. We will hold the Scottish Government to its transport promises."
